Throughout my primary and secondary school years, you would almost always fi nd me in a swimming pool! I was a dedicated member of a swim club, training around 7–8 times a week, and swimming quickly became a huge part of my life. I was fortunate enough to compete at national level, travelling all over the country to compete in competitions and even travelling abroad to represent myself in international events.

At 18, I decided it was time to hang up my goggles and take a different path. Rather than leaving swimming behind completely, I traded my goggles and became a swimming teacher. I wanted to share my passion for swimming and teach younger children the skills, confi dence and enjoyment that I had gained throughout my own swimming journey.

I fi nd teaching incredibly rewarding. Watching a child learn a new skill, overcome a fear or become more confi dent in the water is something I fi nd truly special. Being able to pass on my knowledge and help children develop their own love for swimming is what makes my role so enjoyable.

When I’m not in the water, you’ll usually fi nd me at home spending time with my little dog, Bonnie!’
