One of my earliest memories as a child (around 4yrs old) is getting silver in 25m freestyle race, devastated because I thought I had won. Swimming and AQUA sports generally have been synonymous with my life and journey. My grandma used to be head instructor for our towns RLSA organisation, and if I wasn't competing or training that weekend I would be helping her set up and run her courses.
People have made comments in the past like, "it was destined" for me to become a coach, but I prefer to lean more on passion and that passion has taken me, from teaching babies, to the highest competitive level of the sport, from open water swims & deep sea diving to paddling pools. The reward of helping people achieve their goals or overcome their fears, is something that never gets old!
Its true, If you're lucky enough to be paid for doing what you love then you win at life & it feels like I'm winning!
