‘At Swim Generation, we are passionate about delivering programmes that produce real results while remaining enjoyable for every child. As a former Swim Instructor and now the founder, I have personally witnessed the transformative impact of intensive training, and I hear the same from the thousands of families we’ve taught.’

Christopher Whitworth, Owner

Five Reasons Our Intensive Summer Courses Deliver:

  1. Builds Confidence: Increased time in the water helps build and improve confidence. This is in addition to the water safety skills we teach.

  2. Learn More Skills: With a curriculum covering five days, it allows our highly experienced and qualified (ASA/Swim England Level 2 Certificate, or the STA Level 2 Certificate) to teach additional swimming skills.

  3. Automates Muscles: Due to the programme's intensive nature, muscle use becomes automatic and natural.

  4. Improved Memory Retention: Because the course is not just one day but over five, it improves the memory retention of the techniques.

  5. Peer Comaraderie: Spending more time with peers in the water strengthens friendships as swimmers work together.

Frequently Asked Questions

01

How are summer intensive courses structured compared to term-time lessons?

Our summer intensive courses run over five consecutive days (Monday to Friday), with focused sessions each day. We have found this format allows swimmers to practise skills consistently, helping to accelerate progress.

02

Can we book a summer programme at our home pool?

Yes, you can book your summer programme at your home pool in London, Surrey and Bath.

03

Are there any prerequisites for signing up for the intensive summer programme?

The summer courses have no strict prerequisites. Our summer courses cater to a wide range of ages and abilities. Our coaches will review each swimmer's experience and confidence level and place them in a suitable group.

04

What is your policy regarding instructor consistency for intensive courses?

We know that consistency with the same coach for the week is extremely beneficial to a swimmer's progress. The same coach is assigned for the entire intensive course. This helps build rapport and ensures continuity in teaching.

05

How much progress can my child expect in one week?

While every swimmer is different, many children make noticeable progress in confidence, technique, and water skills over the course of a week due to the programme's intensive nature.

06

Are the Summer Programme coaches experienced with nervous or beginner swimmers?

Yes, all of our swim coaches are highly qualified and experienced in working with swimmers of all levels (2 years relevant, prior experience), including beginners and those who may feel nervous in the water. Our instructors hold recognised qualifications such as the Swim England (ASA) Level 2 or STA Level 2 Certificate, and all undergo enhanced DBS checks. We focus on creating a supportive, safe, and encouraging environment for every swimmer.

“My two daughters have been swimming with Swim Generation for a while now. They have both progressed significantly with the help of their great coaches and one now swims with a local club. The efficiency with which Swim Generation run their business is a breath of fresh air!”
