Parents often ask us what are the advantages of shared private swimming lessons so we thought we would highlight these for you today.
Swimming Environment
The environment in which your child learns how to swim is paramount. Our years of experience highlight, that the more calm and quiet the environment the more attentive the child is. Our private venues have a calm and relaxing environment, ideal for children to learn how to swim as they don’t have the typical noisy distractions found at most public pools.
Number of children in a class
The biggest frustration we hear from parents talking about their experience of group lessons is their children have less attention and are quite often left waiting by the side of the pool for some time before being given any guidance or actually swimming.
We keep our class sizes small to accelerate learning. With a maximum of two children* to a class with the instructor (known as a shared private class), each child receives optimal attention from the teacher, spending more time in the water and acquiring skills more efficiently and effectively. Smaller numbers of non-swimmers in a class also means the lesson is much safer.
Small classes also allow your child to get to know their coach much better and build a relationship with them, which in turn motivates learning.
Price
Group lessons are probably the more cost-efficient way for learning to swim, however, parents should bear in mind that their rate of learning and swimming progression may take longer, therefore we believe that you will be paying more in the long-term with group lessons. Our shared private lessons ensure there is only ever a maximum of two children in any class, keeping the child engaged for the entire sessions so therefore they learn more at each class.
Social Interaction
Research in adults has shown that if you exercise with a friend you are more likely to see greater results and as children we are no different. Being sociable and interacting with the other child in your shared private class can encourage motivation and a slight sense of competition which can help the child’s development in the pool.
