September is the ideal time to enrol in our swimming programme. The school term has just started, and after the summer break, regular, structured practice prevents skill loss, rebuilds water confidence, and prepares children for school swimming and water safety. The September term is one of our busiest enrolment periods. To secure your preferred day, time, and location, we recommend booking early, as places are limited.

Why Start Swimming Again in September?
Over the Summer holidays its common for children to have increased access to a swimming pool or the sea. Often, a child’s confidence or interest in swimming grows over the summer break and this is the perfect time to start developing those skills.
Swimming is a skill that needs to be kept up. We totally understand that when a child goesinto a new school year, timetables can be busy and a new routine can be stressful. Swimming is a non-negotiable life skill which is why it should be prioritised above all other extra-curricular activities.
Swimming is a fantastic way to keep fit and take care of your child’s emotional wellbeing. Our children’s busy lives can be taken over by screens and technology. Allowing children to switch off from school and the pressures of life means a happier and healthier child.
Swimming is a fantastic way to build a child's confidence. Not all children enjoy team sports but swimming is a great way to develop a child's skills without the pressure of other children or team mates. They can be challenged competitively, away from a team setting.
Swimming lessons provide a life skill like no other. All children should and need to learn to swim. Water safety is about much more than learning to swim, it's about giving children the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to enjoy the water safely throughout their lives.
Instilling routine into a young person's life is incredibly important. A consistent weekly routine helps children feel secure, confident, and ready to learn.
Programme Overview
Babies
Our Parent and Baby lessons take place in Richmond on a Tuesday and Friday morning. Our lessons provide valuable developmental, physical, and emotional benefits from an early age. The aim and goal of our Parent and Baby lessons is for the swimmer to be happy and comfortable in the water before transitioning into lessons without their parent in the water. The babies focus on the primary water safety skills such as rotation, floating, holding the wall and swimming to safety.
Children
Swimming lessons for children take place across 7-days a week at a number of our venues, 44-weeks of the year. Our swimmers take part in weekly lessons focussing on all four strokes. We start our independent lessons from 2yrs old. We focus on a swimmers confidence to start with in order for them to progress and start developing water skills.
Teenagers
Once a swimmer has progressed through our core stages, we would encourage them to join our Squad. The Squad takes place in Chiswick on a Monday and Thursday evening, for one hour. This a class that swimmers can refine their technique, build endurance, improve stamina and introduce competitive practices alongside their peers.
Adults
Adult lessons are available in Waterloo, Highbury and Streatham. We offer weekday afternoon and evening sessions. All adult lessons are private 1:1 and tailored to the swimmers individual needs and personal goals.

"My two year old daughter absolutely loves her swimming lessons with Sila at the Montrose House location. In just four lessons she has gained so much confidence and is already happy to go under the water which has been amazing to see at such a young age. From the very first lesson she felt instantly reassured by Sila and was smiling and excited the entire time. Seeing her feel so confident in the water is truly incredible. She is always disappointed when the lesson ends and talks about her swimming lessons all the time at home. The experience is just as positive for parents as the environment is calm welcoming and reassuring making the whole lesson enjoyable to watch. I am also extremely impressed with the facilities and the cleanliness at Montrose House. We cannot wait to see her continue to grow and go from strength to strength as she progresses with her swimming journey at Swim Generation." Francesca – Richmond mum |
