The next phase of our development programme is our competitive levels. Joining one of Swim Generation's Squads is a great way to participate in competitive swimming if a family can't commit to the everyday demands and training sessions involved in being in a swim club.
Over the years, Swim Generation has proudly prepared hundreds of swimmers for local swim clubs. Our SG Swim Squad is an alternative to this, perfect for those who want to train seriously with like-minded peers in a fun and motivating environment.
In addition to laying the groundwork for competitive swimming, there are many other associated benefits for teenagers.
Advanced refinement & Technique: Joining Swim Generations teen swim quad will help you refine your strokes (Front Crawl, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Butterfly), and master new skills such as turns and breathing techniques.
Mental well-being: Swimming in water and controlled breathing help reduce stress levels and ‘switch off’. This can be especially helpful to clear the mind for academic work.
Improved physical health: Swimming helps work nearly every muscle group, as well as improve cardio and lung capacity.
Team camaraderie: Through team training, you'll build a strong connection with your peers, forming lasting friendships both in and out of the pool.
Proven preparation for clubs: You will receive expert training, improve your techniques and skills, and build confidence to join local clubs.
Our teen swimming squad lessons are held in a fun, professional, nurturing environment and follow a structured format. Over the years, Swim Generation has proudly prepared hundreds of swimmers for local swim clubs.
Teaching Approach: This level is for swimmers that have passed through the stages and is now looking to swim in in a competitive group for up to 60-minutes. These classes take place in our larger pools. At this point in a swimmer’s journey, they will have good technique all four strokes but may need help refining technique for endurance or speed purposes. The class will focus on starts, turns, lane discipline as well as a sociable yet competitive activity to share with peers. Many of our Squad swimmers are now part of local swim clubs. This is a great introduction
to a swim club or as an alternative for swimmers who cannot commit to the daily training demands of that next step.

Below are some tips and items that might be helpful during your swimming sessions and help you get the most out of each lesson.
Keep hydrated & nutrition: While swimming, your body will lose fluids, so make sure to drink water before and during the lesson. Bring a reusable plastic bottle. Swimming also uses a lot of energy, so have a light snack at least an hour beforehand (no later).
Correct gear: You want to feel comfortable while swimming. Swimming hats and goggles are mandatory for Improver 2 levels and above, so make sure your goggles fit well and don’t leak. Wear streamlined swimwear, bring a towel, flip flops, and post-swim clothes.
Communicate: Swim Generation offers a warm and supportive environment. Feel free to ask questions, share concerns, or give feedback (we are always working to improve).
Shower before: This helps keep the water clean for other swimmers and also helps your body to adjust. Some pools will require showering before entering.
Consistency is key: Like any sport, regular practice helps develop skills and build confidence.
