We start our swimmers from 3 months old. Not only are the classes social occasions for parents, but they also allow your baby to experience water calmly and naturally, in the comfort of their parents’ arms. Participating in baby classes from 3 months old helps build the foundations of a safe, happy swimmer.
Enrolling your baby in our baby swimming program provides numerous physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Here are five key advantages:
Builds Confidence: Introducing babies to water at a young age helps foster a positive connection with water that can last a lifetime.
Improves Physical Health: Swimming can help improve your baby's physical health by encouraging muscle development and cardiovascular fitness.
Parent-Baby Bond: Participating in shared swimming lessons with your baby can deepen emotional bonds and build trust.
Skills Development: Starting lessons at three months helps establish the foundations for your child's skill development as they grow.
Safety Awareness: Starting early helps teach your child water safety and boosts their confidence in the water.
The warm pools mean that Swim Generation can offer an environment where swimmers feel at ease and happy during their lessons. Luxury pools and health clubs create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Typical leisure centres can often be chaotic and overwhelming, especially for nervous swimmers.
View our Swim ProgrammeOur baby swimming lessons are held in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment and follow a structured format.
Teaching Approach: Starting lessons at 3 months may be a daunting prospect for new parents; however, there is no better time to start your baby’s swimming journey. Your baby has a natural affinity with water, having spent 9 months in the womb, and this provides the perfect platform to develop
swimming skills and practices. The classes for our Babies and Toddlers are groups so that we can keep the class fun, engaging and sociable for parents; however, we have a limit of 5 parents per class to offer maximum support and attention.

Below are some practical tips to help ensure a smooth, enjoyable swimming experience.
Feeding: We have found that feeding an hour before the lesson is fine, and they will be hungry afterwards because of the energy used during the lesson.
What to bring: Bring a towel, and we recommend a double-layer nappy system. Optional items include flip flops, some people bring a robe, and a change of clothes.
Arrival: Allow plenty of time to stay relaxed and unhurried.
Expectations: Remember, babies' first swimming lessons might involve some crying; this is completely normal.
