Since 2012, Swim Generation has been helping babies through to adults, beginners through to club-level swimmers, learn and improve their swimming skills. Using our luxury locations across London and Surrey, we coach over 2000 children every week, coached by our fully qualified, vetted instructors. In this article, we will help you to understand what to expect when you become a member of the Swim Generation community.
Friendly, Warm & Professional Welcome
A first swim meet can be a little daunting, and first impressions count. At Swim Generation, you are not just a number; we take pride in building strong relationships with our swimmers. From the moment you arrive, you will feel welcome and at ease with clear guidance. With only one-to-one or small groups at Swim Generation, swimmers and coaches get to know each other extremely quickly.
-
Each class will have a dedicated coach who will introduce themselves.
-
Safety is a key factor; pool rules and safety procedures will be explained.
Fun, Positive & Varied Learning
Progress is best when swimmers feel comfortable and genuinely enjoy themselves. Our children's classes are deliberately not robotic, with continuous repetition of the same swimming skills. We aim to make our children’s program enjoyable, interactive, varied and focus on positive reinforcement and encouragement.
-
Gentle encouragement and reassurance to help children create a bond and feel relaxed.
-
Creative activities to help children engage and enjoy their session.
-
Varied challenges to reduce repetition and foster interest. Our lessons are diverse and aimed at developing skills, coordination, and safety.
-
Positive encouragement and feedback create a feeling of achievement.
Warm, Luxurious, Clean Pools
Our pool venues across London and Surrey are carefully selected to meet our standards. We collaborate with luxury health clubs and private pools to provide tranquil, luxurious surroundings.
-
Our pools are usually 29°C to 30°C, allowing children to focus on their swimming lessons without worrying about staying warm.
-
We partner with modern, high-end locations such as Everlast Chiswick.
-
Unlike many public pools, your child will be taught in small classes with minimal distractions. This is especially useful for new and nervous swimmers.
-
Swim Generation ensures that all pools we use adhere to strict hygiene standards, maintaining clear, clean water.
Hands-On Expert Guidance
At Swim Generation, we engage directly and do not teach from the sidelines. Our coaches will be in the water with their swimmers. We know from firsthand experience that hands-on involvement benefits skill and technique development. This approach also helps children who are nervous and new to swimming. Benefits that your child will gain from this hands-on approach include:
-
Swimmers can observe our expert coaches demonstrate techniques, including kicks and strokes. This is far more effective than watching an instructor on the side of the pool.
-
Your child will receive personalised guidance tailored to their individual needs.
-
Parents will also receive feedback after each session, and there is also an online portal to view progress.
-
Hands-on expertise helps to develop independent swimming, which is backed up by Swim England.
Age & Skill Appropriate Programmes
Children of various ages and abilities need a curriculum tailored to their specific needs. That is why we offer progressive and structured pathways designed for different age groups and skill levels that will evolve with your child.
Progression Tracking
We understand that parents want to stay informed about their child’s progress. Our programme structure ensures your child is closely monitored and tracked comprehensively. We offer several ways for parents to receive feedback, including verbal updates from the coach, an online tracking portal, and support from the Swim Generation office if needed. Below are the methods we use to keep parents fully informed.
-
Parents will receive access to an online portal that provides information on current goals, skills, and progress.
-
After each session, a coach will provide an update on your child’s progress.
-
Coaches will continuously monitor your child's progress throughout the entire swim programme.
-
A benefit of our small classes and private locations is that it enables parents to ask questions and speak with our coaches.
